Education Technology Specialist - Amersfoort

Job Description

The Education Technology Specialist (ETS) position is an engineering and proactive technical support position within the Education Market Team in the Sales Department. He/She is responsible for the relationship with the Education End-Users within his region, on all technical subjects. The position requires an individual to perform both technical/engineering and customer service related tasks. The ETS must be technically proficient on all related AV products and their general applications. The position requires selected travel. It also requires continuous learning of new presentation technology and instruction trends.

Main Tasks

  • Thorough understanding of the product line, product function, features and applications
  • Answering the Hot Line
    • Perform call logs in the CRM
  • Performing technical support on related AV products
    • Troubleshooting technical problems with AV systems over the phone
    • In house product testing for technical issues experienced infield
    • Liaise with the Education Account Manager to advise of issues reported by customers
    • Troubleshoot on site at the request of the Director Education Europe or the Technical Support Manager
  • Repair handling
    • Issuing Return Authorizations for Service of product
  • Providing product specifications of products in Instructional AV applications
  • Project and Design assistance
    • Dispensing general information on AV products, audio and video signals, and other topic related to the use of product, and in short providing education end-users and resellers with an AV technical expert
    • Providing product suggestions of products in AV applications for education market end users and resellers
  • Provide new product ideas and changes to future product
  • Generating and maintaining a professional and friendly relationship with education market end users and resellers
    • Ensure database accuracy with updates as required in CRM
  • Develop product loyalty among the education market end users and resellers
  • Participate in Education function (technology shows, open houses, etc.)
  • Identify and recruit key university and K-12 technology management for specific training opportunities on a constant basis
  • Participate in Institutes
    • Teach classes
    • Attend lunches and dinners
  • Traveling to, and representing in a professional manner at tradeshows and events, including participation in set up and tear down of such events
  • Identify business opportunities
  • Promote products via on-site training
