Events Sales Executive - German - Utrecht Area

Job Description

Our international client, who are leaders in the events industry, are currently looking for an experienced, persuasive and resilient Sales Executive. Your main responsibility will be to perform all sales related activities and achieve realistic sales revenue targets. At the same time you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of product and service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Main Tasks

  • Sell over the phone to existing and potential new clients to meet realistic targets
  • Creating, developing and maintaining excellent relationships with clients through a consultative sales approach
  • Develop and maintain a customer database, generate and qualify leads, source and develop client referrals
  • Develop a sales pitch based on audience profile and event concept
  • Negotiate with clients and develop sales proposals
  • Keeping abreast of market developments and identifying and researching new growth areas
  • Maintaining key customer care objectives
  • Develop initiatives to ensure a successful delegate sales campaign
  • Working closely with the marketing team to:
    • Follow up queries
    • Up-sell to existing and new delegates
    • Feedback contacts into database
    • Attract new business revenues where required
    • Develop group sales with both primary and vendor markets
  • Weekly reporting on sales plans and activities
  • Attending training courses as directed by line manager
  • Ensuring that all sales administration is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner
  • Attending industry functions when required


  • Knowledge of relevant computer applications
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of sales
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and business principles
  • Experience in sales
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets
  • The ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • A tenacious 'can do' approach to work
  • Good planner and organiser
  • Flexible and Adaptable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in German and English
  • Good Negotiating skills
