Lead Designer

Job Description

Our client is looking to hire a Lead Designer who will be responsible for the creation of all visual design. They are looking for a good communicator who can work with the Sales & Marketing team, Production team and other stakeholders across the company to ensure that the visual design communicates the desired message, and functions successfully for varying technical and performance specifications. The candidate must be capable of leading the creative aspects of a project and demonstrate leadership in design.
Main Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Producing print and web marketing material from concept to final execution based on a design rationale;
  • Following creative briefs making sure any deliverables needed are done to the best of the available resources and according to the deadlines set;
  • Actively participating in giving and receiving design direction within a team;
  • Liaising with Product Management and Technical Specialists to develop and iterate user interface designs based on research and usability test results;
  • Designing and developing pixel-perfect designs whilst adhering to the style and guidance of the Company’s Interaction;
  • Contributing towards documenting and improving processes for increased efficiency;
  • Providing support to the team manager as required;
  • Keeping updated on developments in design, UI and on different company functions;
  • Ensuring a high quality/standard of work and service throughout.
Knowledge, Experience and Education Required:
  • The combination of a qualification in Graphic Design, Web Design or related field and/or a minimum of 3 years work experience in Web Design and Graphic Design;
  • Possess a portfolio of previous design work illustrating excellent design skills;
  • Be experienced in using design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite;
  • Have experience in working with user-centric design/human factors specialists;
  • Be proficient in information design, visual design, industry UI standards for desktop and web-based applications;
  • Demonstrable knowledge of websites and online marketing;
  • Able to deal with and solve problems quickly and accurately;
  • Advertising Agency work experience will be considered advantageous;
  • Knowledge and experience with: HTML, CSS and Javascript will be considered an asset;
  • A creative approach to problem solving coupled with an ability to pay close attention to detail;
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language;
  • A passion for quality and continuous improvement of processes and web material.
